This summer I was able to go out and watch quite a few movies in theaters. Three notable ones were Despicable Me, Toy Story 3, and Inception.
Despicable Me, in my opinion, was a great movie. I was funny, entertaining, and above all it catered to not just the younger audience but the older ones, like myself, as well. The story line is pretty straight forward, one villain trying to outdo another. There is a dark side to the plot but with the introduction of the kids, the movie takes a very light hearted turn, which is always welcome. Without giving away too much about it, I think this is definitely one of the must see movies of the summer.
Toy Story 3 turned out to be your average Toy Story movie. I went in with high expectations having seen 1 and 2. The movie was good and continued the story from where the previous one had left off. There were moments that were funny but overall, for me, the movie did not live up to its expectations. I personally would have waited until it was out on DVD to see it knowing what I know now.
Inception, now that was a whole other story. I had heard great reviews about this movie as you probably already have. The movie lived up to all the hype that I had heard. The plot was great, the casting was also very good, and the special effects were amazing as well. I think the plot was the best part of the movie. The twist in the ending really made us think what really happened and what we could have thought wrong in our assumption of various situations. To this day, we still have discussions about the ending and its effects on the rest of the movie and how it definitely threw a wrench into the perfect explanation that everyone had of the events in the movie, until the final scene. So this movie is also a must-see from this summer.
How many times did you see Inception? Twice was not enough for me
ReplyDeleteSulayman, I only watched it once. I mostly understood it. Why did you need to watch it twice?
