Rainy Quepos, Costa Rica (Nov 23, 2010)

After a good night's rest, we got up early in the morning and left the hotel from Monteverde to drive to Quepos. Our drive took us through some beautiful mountains and clouds. We arrived in Quepos around evening time and settled into our hotel to get some rest.

The weather was definitely not on our side. We were greeted with rain in Quepos and from the looks of it, we were not going to get better weather anytime soon. However, having traveled so far to get here, we decided to give the place a try and find things to do. We knew that we had to go to the Manuel Antonio National Park. We had heard a lot of good things about it and it was first on our things to do in Quepos. Sadly, when we got to the park, it was closed for the day due to the weather.

With that disappointment, we decided to just relax and walk on the beach along the coast. The weather again was definitely not on our side as the winds picked up and the tide started to swell. After hanging around the beach for a little bit, we decided to call it a day and head back towards the hotel.

On our way back, we discovered a small street market along the road and stopped to look around. The goods there were really touristy but then again, what else will tourists buy. We knew we didn't want to buy the usual souvenirs so we just browsed the shops and then headed back to our hotel. After grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant, we called it a night and went to bed.

Here are some pictures from the drive:
