Red Velvet Sundae |
As restaurant week continues in NYC, so did my exploration of new restaurants. This week, a few friends joined me at the David Burke's Kitchen in SoHo.
The restaurant is located on the corner of 6th Ave and Grand st, just one block north of Canal st. We had reservations for 7:30 pm and we were promptly seated once everyone had arrived at the restaurant.
The prix fixe menu seemed to have quite a few choices from appetizers to entrees and desserts. You can view it
here.
In appetizers, a friend and I tried the lobster soup while the others had tuna tartare tacos, and simple salad from the menu. The lobster soup was very good and quite unique since I had never had lobster dumplings before. For entree, a friend and I each ordered the black sea bass dish while the others went with grilled prawns and roasted organic chicken. The black sea bass itself was quite tasteless, however, the tomato miso sauce that came with it was quite tasty and made the dish enjoyable. Finally, the most important part of the meal, the desserts were served. I ordered the red velvet sundae while the others got butterscotch panna cotta and chocolate cream chesse bar. The chocolate cream cheese bar was hands down the most favorite dessert on the table. I enjoyed my choice as well since I am a big fan of anything red velvet.
Overall, I think everyone enjoyed their meal and the service. Here are some pictures of the meals that we had, happy drooling!
